Orange Silk Obi Bag

This is a bag made from a bright orange vintage silk Obi…a medium-sized to tote bag with wide comfortable straps and a magnetic closure on the top.   The straps are long enough to put the bag on your shoulder, but not too long.   The entire bag is made of the same bright orange vintage silk obi,  with a chrysanthemum motif on the front.  On the front of the bag, the chrysanthemum is placed towards the bottom left.   the center of the flower has detailed gold silk floss embroidery with multiple techniques to give it a three-dimensional look.  the petals of the chrysanthemum flower stretch from the bottom left of the bag to the top right and are made of gold foil.  The edges of each petal are highlighted with multiple rows of detailed silk floss embroidery in white, gold, green, red, and purple.  The sweeping arc of each petal is echoed  behind the main motif in green, white and purple. The bag is seamed on the sides and the bottom,  and has good body and construction so that it can stand by itself.  The wide orange silk straps are securely attached and comfortable.
