Featuring a Japanese Market, Sake & Beer Garden and Cultural Performances.

Acrylic Illuminations Workshop

Using luminous metallic surfaces, students will use acrylic paints and mediums to create translucent and opaque layers of color and texture. Using techniques like glazing, layering, sanding, and texture, students will turn two 6 x 12 panels into works of art. All materials will be supplied, and students are encouraged to bring their favorite colors of acrylic paint. 

Non-toxic, solvent free acrylic paint and mediums will be used. Students will be able to take home two ready to hang 6x12 works at the end of the workshop, and leave with a kit of supplies, enabling exploration at home. 

Students will be supplied with two 6x 12 panels, prepared for display, and ready to hang in your home or give as a gift at the end of the workshop. Beverages and light snacks provided.

Come to the Lorton Workhouse Arts Brewfest August 13th. 

In partnership with Celebrate Fairfax, Visit Fairfax, Fairfax County Government, and Fairfax County Parks & Recreation, the Workhouse is presenting its inaugural BrewFest. The event will feature nearly 100 craft brews by 30 breweries. We are excited to highlight many of our local brewers. The day will feature a dozen bands performing on three stages, numerous food trucks, lawn games, and of course, our artists will be in their galleries, which will be open for you to explore. The evening concludes with a FREE Mount Vernon Nights Concert by The Claire Lynch Band.
